Hi, I’m Kathy

I’m Kathy Roe — a 49-year-old menopausal mom, holistic nutritionist, fitness coach, and owner of Eat Real Therapy.

My Story

Was I always “healthy”? NOPE.

Ten years ago, I was 40 lbs heavier, obsessed with diets, hungry all the time, and stuck in perimenopause chaos: brutal PMS, night sweats, migraines, mood swings (understatement), daily naps, and a constant feeling of being lost.

And honestly? I hated working out. Who wouldn’t when you’re running on fumes?

I didn’t recognize myself. This wasn’t “me.” I was a former competitive gymnast who valued health and strength.

The Turning Point

So… back to school I went.

When I started studying human metabolism, I realized I’d been approaching it all wrong. It wasn’t just about calories. It was about blood sugar, hormones, neurotransmitters, inflammation, and gut health.

Once I understood how my body actually worked, everything clicked:

 • I stopped obsessing over food.

 • I didn’t stress about dinners, alcohol, or vacations.

 • I finally had energy again — and with it, my love for fitness came back.

Food didn't rule me anymore. I was in control for the first time in my life.

Why I Do This

Many of us are stuck between restrictive diets and "just love yourself."
