Nutrition + Fitness
(women 40+)
Struggling with weight gain post 40?
Feel stuck like nothing works anymore?
Want a consistent healthy lifestyle but get derailed every time?
I lost 40 pounds during perimenopause and have kept it off for 10 years. I understand the low self-esteem, the lack of hope and the frustration. And I have developed a system (with nutrition + strength training) to help get you to that consistent, healthy lifestyle you WANT. Annnd I am teaching it this month in foodFIT for the first time. No more 'all or nothing'; start, stop, and hit repeat. Just forward momentum towards your goals, just in time for summer.
Get food guidance AND fitness all in one place.
4 week challenge, starting Easter Monday, April 21st, 2025
Afraid to try on your summer clothes? Short on time? Joint pain or fatigue getting in the way of feeling better? Avoiding social events because you don't feel good about yourself?
I have been here, too.
I want you to know there is an approach that can turn it all around for you like it has for me and for so many others. It does NOT require going to a gym, long workouts you hate, more supplements, food elimination, restrictions, calorie counting, macro tracking, or starving yourself after 6pm. In fact, I am teaching you all how to do it with BRAND NEW technology. You'll be able to analyze your own meals without having to see a dietitian or a nutritionist again.
You can even eat carbs.
I found my foodFIT post 40, and you can too. Get traction and gain power back over your health & fitness in midlife with a program designed to your unique needs and time challenges:

4 Weeks. Get STRONG. Feel Better From the Inside Out.
If you want your body to respond differently, you may want to do something differently.
Health looks different at this stage of life with busy careers, children to please, less free time for ourselves, aging parents, and changing bodies. foodFIT is a 4-week nutrition and strength program designed for women 40+, designed for the unique challenges we face. And here's something I want you to be ready for:
This approach is going to FEEL different.
If you are used to long, aerobic-based workouts without a strategic design for optimal results, long lists of food restrictions, cutting portion sizes/carbs or having to prep for hours...this may be exactly what you need.
It's an approach that will emPOWER you for life.
If you are in your late 30s, 40s, or 50s, your body is changing due to hormonal shifts. Dieting, skipping meals, fasting, cutting carbs, cardio-only workouts, and burning the candle at both ends is a recipe for disaster.
In short, as our estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone decline as we age, our bodies become less stress-resistant, our muscle loss begins to catch up with us, and we are less insulin sensitive...all at the same time.
You may be feeling:
- Drained due to declining quality of sleep and increased life demands
- HUNGRY thanks to declining levels of the appetite suppressing hormone, estrogen
- Confused about a body that no longer responds as it used to
- Discouraged about what the future will look like
- Concerned about increasing blood pressure, cholesterol and/or sugars
ENTER...
The POWER of adding simple, nutrient dense foods + low impact muscle building.
Nourishing our bodies with all the nutrients it needs has never been more important to function at its best. And it's never been easier.
Strengthening our muscles to maintain what we have and replace what we've lost has never been more important to keep our metabolic engines running, to maintain balance and posture, to improve insulin sensitivity, and to protect our bones. And it's never been this convenient.
Ready for a different approach?

"I've lost 40lbs and my doctor took me off of my blood pressure meds that he thought I would be on for the rest of my life. He said, whatever you're doing, keep doing it!"

"Since the beginning of January, I've achieved a 20-pound weight loss with foodFIT. I believe a significant factor in my success this time has been incorporating strength training. Walking only yielded limited results. The power of dumbbells has proven effective to me!"

Hi, I'm Kathy
I'm Kathy Roe, a 47-year-old perimenopausal mom, holistic nutritionist, fitness coach, and owner of Eat Real Therapy.
My story:
Have I always been ‘healthy?' NOPE. 10 years ago, I was 40 lbs heavier, diet obsessed, felt hungry constantly, perimenopausal, suffering from PMS on bust, night sweats, migraines, moodiness (understatement), wanting a nap each day AND lost. I had tried everything and nothing stuck. Not to mention, I HATED working out and why wouldn’t I? I felt drained.
I didn't recognize myself. This wasn’t ‘me’. I was a former competitive gymnast, and I valued health.
So, back to school I went:
When I started studying human metabolism, I realized I had been doing this all wrong. It wasn’t just about calories. It was about blood sugar, hormones, neurotransmitters, inflammation, and gut health. Once I figured out *how* my body actually worked, everything clicked. I was no longer preoccupied with food. I didn’t stress out over dinners, alcohol, or vacations. I could finally just live my life knowing I had total control of my body and my health. Food wasn’t the boss of me anymore AND once my energy returned, so did my love of fitness.
Diets are hard and harder still post 40+ years.
This can be easier. Let me show you how, like, we’ve shown so many others here.
Cheers to your health,
Kathy
