I'm Kathy Roe, a 48-year-old menopausal mom, holistic nutritionist, fitness coach, and owner of Eat Real Therapy.Â
My story:
Have I always been âhealthy?' NOPE. 10 years ago, I was 40 lbs heavier, diet obsessed, felt hungry constantly, perimenopausal, suffering from PMS on bust, night sweats, migraines, moodiness (understatement), wanting a nap each day AND lost. I had tried everything and nothing stuck. Not to mention, I HATED working out and why wouldnât I? I felt drained.
I didn't recognize myself. This wasnât âmeâ. I was a former competitive gymnast, and I valued health.
So, back to school I went:
When I started understanding human metabolism, I realized I had been doing this all wrong. It wasnât just about calories. It was about blood sugar, hormones, neurotransmitters, inflammation, and gut health. Once I figured out *how* my body actually worked, everything clicked. I was no longer preoccupied with food. I didnât stress out over dinners, alcohol, or vacations. I could finally just live my life knowing I had total control of my body and my health. Food wasnât the boss of me anymore, AND once my energy returned, so did my love of fitness.Â
And now I teach online strength training too.
